The shooting happened on Friday morning after a man began shooting in the trendy 10th arrondissement of the capital, APA reports citing TheLocal.
The man, reported to be in his 70s, was arrested at the scene and police also secured the weapon he had used.
Several people were injured, although no detail was provided on the severity of their injuries.
French media reported that the shooting happened at a Kurdish cultural centre on rue d’Enghien.
A shopkeeper in the area told AFP she had heard seven or eight shots in rue d’Enghien in the 10th arrondissement, saying “it was total panic. We locked ourselves inside.”
Police evacuated the immediate area and advised the public to keep away while the security operation continues.
