"Türkiye does not join sanctions against Russia, in general, we do not join one-sided sanctions. However, as Türkiye, we support UN's steps," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the press conference with U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken who is on a visit to Ankara, APA reports.
"We have stated from the beginning that we will not allow the country (Russia-ed.) to bypass the sanctions, and we follow this line as well. We take this matter into consideration and have taken certain measures. We do not allow export to Russia through Türkiye. It has been stated that trade turnover between russia and Türkiye has increased, however, I should underline that more than 60 percent of this is gas and energy. Reports about our export of electronic materials to Russia to be used in Russia's defense industry are not true. We already stated many times that if there are documents related to this, they should provide us with evidence. If this rule is violated and there is evidence, we as the government will take the necessary steps," the Turkish minister stressed.
