UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will receive additional powers from the British Parliament to restrict social media use by children and teenagers, Prime Minister's Office says, APA reports.
"We will ask parliament for new powers. These could include: setting a minimum age for social media use, restricting VPN access for children," the prime minister said in a statement.
Starmer said social media was damaging children's attention span, self-esteem and mental health.
