Secretary-General of Council of Europe makes a call regarding the missing persons  in the First Karabakh War

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, answered the question of the Azerbaijani MP Samad Seyidov about the missing persons in the First Karabakh War during the spring session of the PACE, which started today, APA's Britain bureau reports.

She stated that there are always lost persons in any battle, and she understands how hard it is for families.

Maria Pejčinović Burić noted that families should know where the missing persons are.

She urged to report the whereabouts of missing people and added that all human rights violations committed during conflicts should be addressed. She remarked that this is the only way to proceed to the next stage.

The Secretary-General underlined the long-term importance of confidence-building measures and stated that the Council of Europe is involved in confidence-building measures in a variety of fields. The Secretary-General stated that all topics regarding Azerbaijan and Armenia's peace should be pursued.
