"NATO has always stood by Ukraine. This was the case before Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, and it remains so today," said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is on an official visit to Ukraine during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, APA reports.
“Putin thought he would defeat Ukraine because it was weak. But he was wrong; Ukraine proved strong. NATO’s support arrived in time, and Ukraine remains at the center of our attention today. Attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have increased, but we are ready to support Ukraine every day,” the NATO Secretary General said.
According to Rutte, over the course of a year, Allied countries provided Ukraine with 75% of all missiles used at the front and 90% of air defense missiles. In addition, NATO is developing new weapons together with Ukraine and is quickly delivering them to the front lines.
The Secretary General stressed that a repeat of the Budapest Memorandum will not be allowed and that NATO will always stand by Ukraine.
