Currently, there are no plans to create a joint army between the Turkish states in the future, President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists while returning from his visit to Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, APA's Turkish correspondent reports.
He noted that the Civil Defense Mechanism Agreement signed between the member countries is an important step towards increasing cooperation in the field of security in the region, but the expansion of this agreement in the direction of a joint army is not discussed.
Erdogan also emphasized that coordination of disaster and emergency response measures will strengthen deep cooperation between states: "The main goal of this agreement is to increase the solidarity of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States in disaster and emergency situations. This solidarity will make us more prepared for disasters and post-disaster processes."
