On Tuesday, February 24, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola signed the Ukraine Support Loan worth €90 billion for the period 2026–2027, Metsola announced on the social media platform X, APA reports citing Ukrinform.
“Just signed the €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan on behalf of the European Parliament,” Metsola wrote.
She said the funds will be used “to shore up essential public services running; to keep Ukraine's defence strong; to safeguard our shared security and freedom; to achieve a real and lasting peace; to anchor Ukraine’s future in Europe.”
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan for 2026–2027 was to be signed during a special session of the European Parliament marking the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
