Europe has not made sufficient use of its potential, said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in his speech at the Munich Security Conference, APA reports.
"Russia's current GDP is 2 trillion euros. In the European Union, this figure is 10 times higher. Despite this, Europe is not 10 times stronger than Russia," Merz noted.
He stated that Europe has great potential in the military, political, economic, and technological spheres.
"Unfortunately, we have not sufficiently utilized our potential in these areas for a long time. We now understand that in an era of domination by major powers, no one will give us our security; our security is under threat," the German Chancellor warned.
