A magnitude 4.5 earthquake was recorded at 7:21 PM local time in Romania's Vrancea seismic zone, in Vrancea County (eastern Romania), the Romanian National Institute of Geophysics informed, APA reports.
The earthquake was located at a depth of 107.9 km, near the cities of Focsani, Buzău, Sfantu Gheorghe, Bârlad, Bacău, and Brasov. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
This is the strongest earthquake in Romania in the past year. In 2025, the country experienced two earthquakes, both with a magnitude of 4.4.
