King Charles III of the United Kingdom delivered his first-ever Christmas speech since being declared monarch in September of this year, APA reports citing Teletrader.
In his remarks on Sunday, the King honored his departed mother and thanked everyone who showed "love and sympathy" to his family during the time of loss. "Christmas is a particularly poignant time for all of us who have lost loved ones," he said. The King paid tribute to the British troops and medics, as well as charities and people who give donations to support those in need.
Charles succeeded his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled the kingdom for 70 years and 214 days, marking the longest reign of any British monarch before her.
