Iran is deeply skeptical of US diplomatic initiatives and fears that Washington may use negotiations to prepare for another military attack, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, made the remarks in an interview with state television, APA reports.
According to him, Tehran does not rule out the possibility that other motives may lie behind US initiatives for negotiations.
"Iran has deep distrust toward you. You want to negotiate now and then launch strikes after your elections," Rezaei said, revealing a warning conveyed by the Iranian side to Washington through intermediaries.
