At least 60 people were injured during protests across France after demonstrations turned into riots and clashes with police in several cities, Le Figaro reports, citing emergency medical services.
Four of those injured in the clashes are reported to be in serious condition.
Police officers were also among those injured. According to the Marseille Police Prefecture, 19 law enforcement officers were injured in the city alone while suppressing riots and preventing looting.
Meanwhile, several gendarmes in Paris suffered serious burns after aggressive protesters threw pyrotechnic devices containing incendiary substances at them.
It should be noted that protests resumed in France on October 31. At the end of a march in the capital, aggressive protesters began throwing stones and bottles at law enforcement officers. In response, police used tear gas and stun grenades.
Clashes with police also occurred in other cities. As of 9:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, 565 people had been detained across the country.
The October 31 protests were a continuation of large-scale demonstrations held on October 17 and 24, which were accompanied by clashes with police and looting of shops in several cities.
