Irakli Kobakhidze has been nominated again for the position of Prime Minister of Georgia, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.
The decision was made by the political council of the "Georgian Dream" party.
It was announced that the ruling party will nominate Shalva Papuashvili for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
"According to our regulations, the party's honorary chairman (Bidzina Ivanishvili) has the authority to propose a candidate for Prime Minister, and it is not surprising that he has nominated Irakli Kobakhidze for this position. Of course, the Political Council fully supports him. Additionally, the 'Georgian Dream' faction will nominate Shalva Papuashvili for the position of Speaker of Parliament. We will determine the timing for the first session of the Georgian Parliament in the coming days," Mamuka Mdinaradze stated.
