"The Hungarian opposition does not support Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the European Union," said Peter Magyar, leader of the opposition Tisza party in Hungary, APA reports.

He said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and other European leaders share the same view on this issue.

“The position of many EU leaders is that all candidate countries must meet the Copenhagen criteria before being admitted to the EU,” Magyar said.

Note that the Copenhagen criteria, adopted in 1993, are a set of political, economic, and legislative conditions that countries wishing to join the EU must fulfill.
