"A lasting agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine could be reached with the participation of the presidents of Russia and the United States within six months, and perhaps even sooner," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed confidence in this in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, APA reports.
Answering the question whether it is realistic to expect an agreement on settling the situation in Ukraine in the next six months, the head of government said: "Yes. Definitely. Even earlier. I think so."
Orban explained that his optimistic expectations are linked to US President Donald Trump, who has taken up the issue and plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"These are serious people. Strong people seek peace, weak people wage wars. We have strong leaders now," the prime minister said in a conversation with Carlson, a recording of which was posted on the American journalist's website.
