This meeting marks the beginning of a new stage in the history of the Turkic world, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev said during his speech at the "Turkic World Week" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports.
"Today, important steps are being taken to strengthen ties among Turkic states and peoples, develop mutual cooperation, and preserve our common values. The foundation of this unity is, first and foremost, the political will of the Turkic states, the mutual respect of our peoples, and our shared cultural heritage. The ideas voiced at the Turkological Congress one hundred years ago remain relevant today. Inspired by those ideas, we must further develop the scientific, cultural, and humanitarian ties of the Turkic world. I am confident that these meetings will serve to further strengthen friendship, cooperation, and unity among the Turkic states and peoples," he said.
