“Georgia’s membership to NATO and EU is the choice of Georgian people”, Georgian Prime minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at a public forum held in San Fransisco, APA reports citing TASS.
According to him, more than 80 percent of Georgian people support the idea of membership to NATO and the EU. “This is not the decision taken by the political leadership, the initiative comes from the people. Therefore I want to state again that the membership to NATO and EU is the choice of Georgian people. Georgia deserves it,” Bakhtadze said.
Prime minister also underlined that Georgia’s membership to NATO will not be realized in one day, it depends on the geopolitical situation.
