Citizens of Georgia have blocked Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament, APA reports citing Georgian.ge.
The above was initially resisted by law enforcement officers, but later they allowed protesters to block the road.
Citizens are protesting against the fact that Russian MP Sergei Gavrilov presided over the session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy in the Parliament of Georgia today.
As for the demands, according to National Movement MP Salome Samadashvili, their main demand is Irakli Kobakhidze and Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia to resign, as well as amendments to be made the constitution so that elections in 2020 are held in a proportional system.
