In January-September of this year, the number of TEU containers transported from and to China through Georgia via the Middle Corridor increased by 39.9% year-on-year to 12,721 units, said Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, APA's local bureau reports.
According to her, this figure confirms the growing demand for the Middle Corridor route.
"After the planned reforms to modernize and increase the capacity of Georgia's railways, the Middle Corridor will become an even greater source of economic wealth for the country," Ioseliani said.
