New Turkish ambassador to US known

APA reports quoting CNN Turk that after the resignation of Nabi Shensoy, Namik Tan will lead the diplomatic office.

The official appointment of Namik Tan, who is working at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, will be reportedly announced soon. Namik Tan had worked in Turkish embassy in the US. Before his appointment in the Foreign Ministry, he had been Turkeyâ€™s ambassador to Israel.

Nabi Shensoy resigned as he had an incident with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu during the visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the US on December 7. Before the Prime Minister Erdoganâ€™s visit to the United States, Turkish Foreign Ministry instructed the ambassador to organize participation of the foreign ministers at the Erdogan-Obama meeting and to deliver Ankaraâ€™s desire to the White House, but the meeting was held in the format, which was not suitable to the Turkeyâ€™s requirement. Davutoglu strongly asked Shensoy: â€œThe foreign ministers participated at the meeting in Turkey. Did you deliver our desire to Washington?â€ The minister concerned over the tone of ministerâ€™s voice and said: â€œNo, we didnâ€™t. If you want you may dismiss me from the officeâ€. Following this dialogue Shensoy sent a letter of resignation to the ministry.
