Azerbaijan gets 6% rise in auto-petrol consumption

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. In 2014, consumption of main oil products made 3.6 mln tonnes, up 0.2% from previous year.

According to State Statistical Committee, 38.5% of consumption made auto-petrol, 38.4% - diesel, 6.7% - oil bitumen, 5.9% - gasoline for petrochemical industry, 4.9% - kerosene, 3.9% - liquid gas, 1.2% lubricating oil, 0.4% - heavy oil, and 0.1% -

petroleum coke.

Compared to 2013, consumption of the gasoline for petrochemical industry rose 67.9%, lubricating oil – 10.8%, auto-petrol – 6.3%, other products declined.

Natural gas production rose 4.9% to 18.7 bcm. 46.4% of natural gas was consumed in the country, 37.2% - exported, 5.3% - made loss and 11.1% - remained as reserve.

Exported gas rose 10.7% to 8.1 bcm, 2.4 bcm was pumped in the underground storehouses.

Energy and heating power producing enterprises consumed 5.6 bcm (+5.7%), 3,400 tonnes of heavy oil and 1,200 tonnes of diesel.

All entities consumed 21.0 bln kVt/h of energy last year.
