Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. In order to accelerate diversification of natural gas import, the European Commission intends to start negotiations with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on gas transportation, the German newspaper Der Spiegel reported.
“The European Union will use all foreign political instruments to strengthen the strategic economic cooperation with the producing and transit countries on energy resources. These countries include Aljazeera, turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, a number of Middle Eastern and African countries. Moreover, it was considered to make cooperation more active with Norway, US and Canada”, the newspaper says.
The EU intends to sign Memorandum of Understanding with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in 2015. This document will be a part of measures for providing gas transportation to Europe.
