In January-June of this year, approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of associated gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil and gas field block were transferred to the Azerbaijani state, mainly to SOCAR, via the Sangachal terminal and facilities at “Oil Rocks,” which is 25% higher in an annual cmparison, APA-Economics reports this citing BP’s report on its activities in Azerbaijan dedicated to the results for the first half of the current year.

According to the document, during the reporting period, an average of 8 million cubic meters of gas per day was delivered from ACG to SOCAR.

“The remaining portion of the produced associated gas was reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure,” the report notes.

Note that a portion of the associated gas produced at ACG is provided to SOCAR free of charge.

Recall that the profit-sharing ratio in ACG is as follows: BP – 30.37% (operator), AzACG (SOCAR) – 31.65%, MOL – 9.57%, Inpex – 9.31%, ExxonMobil – 6.79%, TPAO – 5.73%, Itochu – 3.65%, and ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) – 2.92%.
