In January of this year, the average price of one barrel of "Brent" benchmark oil on global markets made up $79.2, which is 7.3% higher compared to the December figure of the previous year ($73.8), APA-Economics reports citing the World Bank's monthly report on commodity prices.
According to the report, the average price of "Brent" oil in 2024 was $80.7, which is 2.3% lower compared to the 2023 figure ($82.6).
The data also reveals that in January of the current year, the average price of one barrel of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) benchmark oil was $75.1, which is 7.6% higher compared to the previous month's figure ($69.8).
It is noted that last year, the average price of WTI oil has made up $75.8, which is 2.4% lower than the previous year's figure ($77.7).
