At the same time, AI is becoming a crucial tool for protecting energy companies from such attacks, the report notes.
Another concern regarding energy security is the growing demand for critical minerals used in data center equipment powering AI.
Despite these challenges, AI, as an integral part of scientific discoveries, can accelerate innovations in energy technologies, such as batteries and solar panels.
