After hosting COP29, Azerbaijan is seeking to increase investments in low-emission technologies, APA-Economics reports, citing the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) “World Energy Outlook – 2025” report.
The report notes that the country aims to increase the share of renewable energy in installed capacity to 30% by 2030.
“During COP29 held in Baku, several statements were made by the Caspian and Central Asian countries. Among these statements were commitments to increase support for renewable energy sources and to improve infrastructure connectivity. As an example, the Trans-Caspian Green Energy Corridor being implemented within the framework of the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan can be mentioned,” the report states.
It is noted that the purpose of the mentioned agreement is to ensure the integration of the partner countries’ power grids and to enable the export of renewable energy.
