Since the launch of the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) on June 30, 2018, 75 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas have been transported to Türkiye and Europe through it within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor, APA-Economics reports citing the TANAP consortium.
“The TANAP, the longest section of the Southern Gas Corridor, has reached 75 billion cubic meters after the transportation of its first commercial gas,” the statement notes.
Recall that the TANAP pipeline is the central element of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC). Through this pipeline, a part of Azerbaijani gas is delivered to Türkiye (maximum transmission capacity - 31 billion cubic meters), and the other part is transported to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to the border between Türkiye and Greece. The commercial transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the TAP pipeline began on December 31, 2020.
