In November of this year, natural gas consumption in the European Union decreased by 2.6% year-on-year to 33.8 billion cubic meters, APA-Economics reports, citing a report by the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
According to the information, the decline was mainly due to weakened heating demand in the household sector and a decrease in industrial consumption.
“This occurred despite the cold weather conditions observed in Europe during the third week of the month,” the report notes.
During the same period, natural gas consumption in the United States increased by 3.7% year-on-year to 79 billion cubic meters, which was due to increased demand in the residential and commercial sectors.
Recall that since December 31, 2020, the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has begun.
