An electricity transmission line will be built to connect the East Zangezur economic region with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, passing through Iranian territory, this was announced today at an expanded format meeting held between Deputy Prime Minister, Co-Chairman of the State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran Shahin Mustafayev, and Farzaneh Sadegh, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, APA reports.
Confidence was expressed that the construction of the power transmission line, which will connect the East Zangezur economic region with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Iranian territory, will not only serve to ensure energy security, but will also make a great contribution to strengthening cooperation in the field of electric power between two countries.
