“We intend to increase our gas supply through the Southern Gas Corridor,” Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov told APA TV, APA-Economics reports.
He stated that Azerbaijan has great potential for this. The country has 2.6 trillion cubic meters of proven reserves.
Orkhan Zeynalov added that regional countries, especially Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan in Central Asia, also possess large reserves.
“In this context, Azerbaijan’s role as a transit country will expand. We see this in the example of the green energy connector. Currently, the Central Asia–Azerbaijan green energy corridor project is being developed,” the deputy minister added.
