184 initiatives from the member states of the International Telecommunication Union have been submitted to the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
He said that over the course of two weeks of plenary sessions, these initiatives will be discussed in committees, and at the end of the event, they will be approved:
“Approximately 2,500 registrations have taken place for the event. This number is already considered a historic record for the International Telecommunication Union. Also, the participation of more than 60 high-level officials at the level of ministers and deputy ministers has been confirmed."
He noted that the two-week program of the event is quite extensive and interesting: “The issues to be discussed at the plenary sessions of the event are currently considered highly relevant. Whether it is cybersecurity, the development of artificial intelligence, supporting the ethical use of artificial intelligence, the convergence of mobile and satellite communications, as well as discussions that envisage the support of the International ICT community for small states, small island states, and developing countries, all of these will be addressed. Within the framework of the event, the program, priorities, and directions for the development of telecommunications worldwide by the International Telecommunication Union for the next four years will be approved and will also be endorsed by the Baku Declaration.”
