In August of the current year, the average price of one barrel of Brent benchmark oil was at the level of 68.2 dollars, which is 3.9% less compared to the July figure (71 dollars), APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank’s monthly report on commodity prices.

According to the report, the average price of Brent in June of the current year was 71.5 dollars.

It is reported that in the second quarter of this year (April-June), the average price of Brent in global markets was $ 67.8, which is 20.1% lower compared to the corresponding period last year ($ 84.9). Compared to the first quarter of this year (75.6 dollars), the price of Brent decreased by 10.4% in April-June.

According to the report, the average price of Brent oil in 2024 was at the level of 80.7 dollars, which is 2.3% less compared to the 2023 figure (82.6 dollars).

According to the information, in August of the current year, the average price of one barrel of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) benchmark oil was 64.1 dollars, which means a 4.9% decrease compared to the previous month's figure (67.4 dollars). In June of this year, the average price of WTI was 67.5 dollars.

In April-June of this year, the average price of WTI was equal to 63.9 US dollars, which is 20.9% less compared to the second quarter of 2024 (80.8 dollars). Compared to the first quarter of the current year (71.4 dollars), the price of WTI oil decreased by 10.5% in April-June.

It is noted that last year the average price of WTI oil was 75.8 dollars, which is 2.4% less compared to the previous year's figure (77.7 dollars).
