Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $24.4 billion in the first half of this year — a 12.1% increase compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Customs Committee.
Of the total turnover, $12.88 billion came from exports and $11.52 billion from imports.
While exports decreased by 0.2%, imports rose sharply by 29.9% over the past year.
As a result, the positive trade balance shrank nearly threefold, dropping to $1.36 billion.
