From the time the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline was commissioned until July 1, 2025, the total volume of exported Azerbaijani oil amounted to 612.2 million tons, and 88% of these volumes fell to the share of the BTC pipeline, APA-Economics reports, citing SOCAR.

“On July 13, 2006, the official opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline, which is one of the main components of the Contract of the Century, provides direct access of Azerbaijani oil to world markets and makes a significant contribution to strengthening the energy security of our country, was held at the Ceyhan terminal in Türkiye,” the post notes.

It is reported that during the reporting period, 537.2 million tons of Azerbaijani oil were transported via BTC (89% of the oil transported via BTC) and 66.6 million tons of Azerbaijani oil were transported via the Ceyhan terminal. transit oil (11% of transportation)

It should be noted that currently the BTC pipeline mainly transports oil produced in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other regional volumes of Caspian crude oil and condensate (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, other volumes of SOCAR produced in Azerbaijan) are also transported via BTC.

BTC Co. shareholders: bp (30.1%), SOCAR (32.97%), MOL (8.90%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5%), TotalEnergies (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%), ONGC Videsh (3.1%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and INPEX (2.5%).
