We must strengthen our energy alliance by quickly implementing the energy corridor we have planned through Nakhchivan, said Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz at the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, APA reports.
Cevdet Yilmaz said that the foundations laid by Azerbaijan and Türkiye with the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline projects have today become an insurance for Europe's energy security with TANAP: "However, our vision cannot be limited to simply transporting oil and gas through pipelines. We are not a transit country delivering Caspian resources to the West, but strategic centers where energy is managed and energy security is ensured. In this regard, we should diversify our cooperation in the energy sector to include renewable energy sources, and strengthen our energy alliance by quickly implementing the energy corridor we have planned through Nakhchivan."
