480 million USD will be allocated for the implementation of the Smart Gas Network Management System in Azerbaijan, SOCAR Vice President's Advisor Elchin Agakishiyev said at the "IADC Drilling Caspian 2025" drilling conference held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
"I would also like to note the agreement on the development of the "smart network" signed within the framework of COP29. The gas distribution company ("Azerigas -ed.), which is one of SOCAR's largest assets, will implement a $480 million project using artificial intelligence to reduce gas leaks," Elchin Agakishiyev noted.
Note that, within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), SOCAR and IntelliGrid, a joint venture of Esyasoft Holding and Presight, signed an Agreement on the implementation of the most modern Smart Gas Network Management System in the entire service area of the Azerigaz Production Association.
According to the signed document, IntelliGrid's artificial intelligence capabilities will be used to integrate data analysis, predictive maintenance, and real-time monitoring into the gas distribution network. This will allow for optimizing gas consumption, minimizing losses, and increasing overall operational efficiency.
