On November 13, in Manaus, Brazil, the Customs Administration of the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed an “Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters,” APA-Economics reports, citing the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The intergovernmental agreement was signed by Shahin Baghirov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Customs Service Lieutenant General, and Fabiano Coelho, Head of the Customs Administration of the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil.
It was noted that this document is significant for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of customs, facilitating trade, improving the efficiency of customs control, and ensuring the security of international trade and supply chains.
The purpose of the signed agreement is to provide mutual support in customs matters, establish an administrative assistance mechanism for the prevention and investigation of violations, facilitate the exchange of information and experience between customs authorities, as well as to deepen technical cooperation, share advanced management and control methods, and expand collaboration in improving customs procedures.
