In January–June 2025, the volume of cargo transported by maritime transport in Azerbaijan totaled 4.608 million tons, representing an 11.7% increase compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee’s monthly report.
It is reported that oil cargo made up 48.8% of the total volume transported during the reporting period.
According to the report, ports handled 6.8305 million tons of loading and unloading operations, of which 5.5533 million tons, or 81.3%, consisted of transit cargo.
As of July 1, 2025, the volume of cargo remaining at the ports stood at 277.9 thousand tons.
The number of passengers transported by this mode of transport decreased by 5.2% compared to the same period in 2024, totaling 12,700 passengers.
