Milli Majlis discusses Bill on Special Economic Regime on Oil-Gas Export Business

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev-APA. Azerbaijan’s parliament Milli Majlis has discussed the Bill on “Special Economic Regime on Oil-Gas Export Business” at the today’s meeting.
Valeh Alasgarov, deputy chairman of Milli Majlis, briefed the MPs about the bill and two-year work on the development of the bill.
“The current reality and major oil and gas project necessitated the development of this bill. High infrastructure has been set up and large-scale work has been undertaken in the country. About 12 000 highly-qualified oil specialists have been trained and some of them work various countries,” he added.
He added that the new bill envisions the establishment of favorable economic and legal environment for development of oil and gas industry, the increase of oil and gas export potential and consolidation of Azerbaijan’s role in the Caspian region in terms of the oil industry.
The bill passed the first reading.
