These problems can be solved only by the National Council. If the National Council decides that Co-chairing Institution isn’t justifying itself, I will resign and Jamil Hasanli will be our chairman,” Chairman of the National Council Rustam Ibrahimbeyov told APA.

He said that if the National Council doesn’t accept his offer regarding Co-chairing Institution, he is ready to resign: “I would definitely accept such a decision of the National Council. I have never had a goal to be involved in politics. I have repeatedly said that I was forced by my conscience and destiny. Actually, I am abroad for months. I offered to establish Co-chairing Institution for the National Council to be chaired by Jamil Hasanli in Azerbaijan and by me abroad. If the Council rejects co-chairing and decides on a single chairman, I think that Jamil Hasanli is the most proper person for this position.”

Ibrahimbeyov said that he had no intention to return to Azerbaijan in the near future.

Chairperson of Musavat's Assembly Arzu Samadbeyli told APA that Ibrahimbeyov resigned and if he nominates Jamil Hasanli as a chairman, he will gain more respect. Samadbeyli said under current conditions, this step can give an impetus to the re-establishment of the work of the National Council.
