Novruz Mammadov: Azerbaijan has ensured its political and economic independence

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloghlu - APA. Azerbaijan continues its successes on domestic and foreign policies as in the previous years. The President’s recent visits are an evidence for it, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Director of the Administration's Foreign Relations Department Novruz Mammadov, APA reports.

Mammadov said that the President made about 15 official visits and attended 10 international events within the year. He mentioned that these visits laid the foundation of a new stage for development. “In the post-Soviet space, Azerbaijan is the only country that is successfully developing. Azerbaijan has strengthened its position in the international arena along with the cooperation in political, economic, cultural and military fields. Moreover, after the projects laid the groundwork for by national leader Heydar Aliyev, implementation of the projects such as TANAP and TAP was the beginning of a new stage. Azerbaijan boosted its reputation in the international arena”, he said.

“This year Azerbaijan has signed declarations on strategic partnership and other documents with about 10 European countries. During the visit to Hungary and the Iranian president’s visit to Azerbaijan after a day, the sides signed declarations. Both declarations clearly envisage Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, sovereignty and peaceful solution to the conflict. Hungary and Iran were held discussions on almost all fields and new steps were taken”, Mammadov said.

Mammadov stated that during his visit to Italy, the President of Azerbaijan has signed an agreement on strategic partnership with the Italian Prime Minister. “In general, we have a special relationship with a number of EU countries. During the talks between the Azerbaijan President and the Prime Minister of Hungary, I observed that both sides prefer promoting the national interests. As the Prime Minister of Hungary prefers the national interests of his country, some problems arise with the European Union”, he said.

Mammadov mentioned that Azerbaijan has ensured its political and economic independence. “Today, dozens of countries around the world face disasters. From this point of view, such reputation of Azerbaijan in the international arena is its great historic achievement. The other success is that Azerbaijan has also ensured its stability, security and development”, he added.
