YAP Deputy Executive Secretary: The demonstration regarding the soldier's death was peaceful, young people chanted slogans and were heard

They chanted slogans’, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanli told APA.

Gurbanli said that Azerbaijani police demonstrated professionalism. To him, though the action was unauthorized, the police treated the protesters calmly and professionally: ‘The protesters sounded their views. Their slogans “Martyrs never die, Motherland can not be divided!”, “The biggest soldier- soldier of Azerbaijan!” were related to those, who were responsible for the death of soldier’.

Gurbanli noted that death of each Azerbaijani soldier outside the Regulations is condemned by everyone, including YAP: ‘We have expressed our position on the death of Jeyhun Gubadov. We also are looking forward to finding the culprits. The Republic Prosecutor's Office is working on this issue very operatively. As you know, some persons have already been punished’.

Mubariz GurbanlÄ± noted that military build-up is always in the focus of attention of Azerbaijan's President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

Deputy Executive Secretary of the party said the death of a soldier must not used for political purposes.

'A group of persons and correspondent of the Radio Liberty Khadija Ismayil attempted to use today's demonstration for their purposes. I witnessed it myself. Using the slogans of the youth "Stop to soldier death!", "Martyrs never die, Motherland can not be divided!', they attempted to use the demonstration for their political purposes. Particularly Khadija Ismayil gathered a group of young persons and was chanting provocative slogans. They came up to our party's office and made a noise. The slogan of the young persons, who joined the demonstration at their request, was different," he said.

Mubariz Gurbanli said despite all this the provocators were prevented and the demonstration was peaceful.

'Young people gathered, chanted slogans and were heard,' he said.

Demonstration was held in Baku in protest against the soldier's death.
