Representative of Azerbaijanâ€™s ruling party strongly criticizes OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states

Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. “Russia, one of the co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group, has military bases in Armenia. Russia supplies Armenia with arms. They are directly defending Armenia,” deputy executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Siyavush Novruzov told journalists, APA reports. He said it is obvious who Russia supports in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

“France’s position is also known, even former President Nicolas Sarkozy said in Armenia that France is Armenia’s sister. How can the country, which is thinking in this manner and passes a law criminalizing the denial of the so-called “genocide”, have fair approach to the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict? You know that there is a big Armenian Diaspora in the US. Armenians even prevented the appointment of an ambassador to Azerbaijan, Obama could appoint ambassador only for a year. The Congress did not confirm his appointment. Armenian lobby, which has influence on the Congress, will also influence the US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group. So, either different countries should be appointed as co-chairs, or OSCE co-chairmanship should be abolished and this process should be discussed at the UN Security Council,” he said.
