Ramiz Mehdiyev: â€œAzerbaijan will become a regional center through the development of energy, transport and transit infrastructureâ€

The document presented today includes the vast majority of the issues facing our society”, said head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev at the international conference “Azerbaijan 2020: Vision of the future”, APA reports.

The Head of the Administration said that the programs on purpose cover various spheres will be adopted for realization of strategic targets as a logical continuation of the adoption of “Azerbaijan – 2020: Vision of the future”: “The Development Conception will be connected with medium-term and long-term economic forecasting and planning and it will provide the reliable ways of achievements to the targets, as well as rational division of the resources. As a part of the conception Azerbaijan will answer the global challenges and improve the quality of the innovation and modernization activity. Innovative character of the economic development will improve the competitiveness and create effective opportunities for integration into the world economy,” he said.

Ramiz Mehdiyev said the strategic task of Azerbaijani state is to create and improve the economy based on skills.

“But the development will not be unilateral, it will be lasting and will cover economic, social and environmental issues. It will enable to more than double the GDP per capita to $13 000. Due to the favorable geographical position Azerbaijan will become a regional center through the development of energy, transport, transit and logistics infrastructure. The Azerbaijani state not only supports the improvement of social welfare of the people, but also is interested in the development of human capital and strengthening of the middle class. For this there is a need to improve the education and health service in terms of quality and quantity, widely use the potential of the youth, increase employment and maintain gender balance,” he said.”
