Baku. Rashad Suleymanov-APA. A ceremony took place on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the creation of Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM).
The event was attended by MPs, heads of media institutions, public organizations and the diplomatic corps, APA reports.
Detailed information about the activities of SAM was given at the event. It was noted that the Center conducts professional researches, realizes various projects and cooperates at the international level with institutions and organizations. Over the past period SAM signed a cooperation agreement with 17 respected international intellectual organizations. Geographical expansion of the cooperation is planned in the near future. It was pointed out that, up to date, over 220 state figures and experts from 53 countries took part in the activities of the organization.
Having a speech at the event, director of SAM Farhad Mammadov said that the activity of the center is gradually increasing, "Owing to the confidence provided by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, we are confident about the future. We have the material and technical as well as human resources that lead to perform assigned tasks qualitatively”.
Head of Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Aslanov noted that the establishment of Center for Strategic Studies was the demand of time and the real results of this step are visible: “A creation of Center for Strategic Studies serves a worldwide propaganda of Azerbaijan. When people talk about SAM, and in the north and in the east and in the west they say that this is the real brain center of Azerbaijan. SAM has its say in shaping public policy via its multilateral activities."
At the event a group of people were awarded for having a role in the activities and cooperating closely with Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan. President of APA Holding Vusala Mahirgizi, Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ismail Alper Coskun, Vice Rector of the Diplomatic Academy Fariz Ismailzade, MPs Ziyad Samadzade, Samad Seyidov, Asim Mollazade, Rasim Musabeyov, and head of ATÄ°B Jemal Yangyn were among who were awarded at the event.
