Ilham ALiyev: "Unpleasant inclinations between BP and SOCAR were prevented"

According to APA, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said it in his speech at the National Olympic Committee meeting on the results of 2012.

Of course, the strong economic potential will allow us to invest in sports investment in an even larger amount".

The President said that right now, Azerbaijan’s economy is growing more due-to the non-oil sector, and it is natural. According to the results of this year, our non-oil economy - the exact calculations are carried out - probably will grow by almost 10 percent. “This is very high, indicating that our economy has been developing a diversified economy", - he said.

The Head of State touched upon the issue on the oil production decline. "I expressed my thoughts and comments on this matter. I am very glad that even in the oil sector began a period of stabilization. At the recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, I openly expressed my views on this issue in order to inform the public. In general, in this matter was to be achieved fracture. I am very pleased that our main partner - BP reacted to these thoughts and comments with a very big responsibility. This morning, at a meeting with me BP president unveiled the company's plans for the future. I am very happy that at the forefront of these issues is the stabilization of oil production. This shows that our cooperation is really built on strong foundations. Beginning from next year, the main sector of our economy - the oil industry will be stabilized. The sustainable oil production will be ensured for many years", - Ilham Aliyev said.

The President also touched upon the matters launched after his comments. "After my comments, external forces who do not like Azerbaijan, the Armenian lobby, and, unfortunately, internal opposition having the same aim with them, tried to puff out my comments. As if there is some big problem in oil industry of Azerbaijan. As if there are problems between Azerbaijan, SOCAR and its partners. There can be problems. But our advantage is that these problems are identified on time and we express our thoughts in a timely manner. And our partners with great interest and with great responsibility related to our observations. Just want to say, the forces, internal forces disliking us, traitors, internal opposition, the very people, who were happy because in the early days of the Summer Olympic Games in London, our athletes failed to win the gold medal, and then together with the Armenians were disappointed with the results of games, should not rejoice. Let the Armenian lobby, external forces that do not like us and do not accept successful development of Azerbaijan not rejoice", - Aliyev said.

The President stressed that the country's oil and gas sector is the backbone of the economy. "Once again I want to say that thanks to the determination of the Azerbaijani leadership in this area of â€‹â€‹responsibility of our partners, the development of relations between BP and SOCAR in the right direction negative trends have been prevented, sustainable economic development will be ensured in the oil and gas sector next year", - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
