APA reports that at first a film on the life and activity of Heydar Aliyev was screened.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Faig Tagizadeh spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s life. Noting that thanks to Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan has become a great industrial country, Tagizadeh underlined that he saved Azerbaijan from civil war and the threat of losing sovereignty during the period of independence: “With the Contract of the Century signed, new period has started in the development of the country.”
Tagizadeh mentioned that during the leadership of Heydar Aliyev, significant activities were carried out to ensuring the security of citizens and in the field of civil defense.
Speaking about Heydar Aliyev’s role in the formation of emergency situations agencies, deputy chief of the Ministry’s Baku Regional Center Tale Shamchiyev noted that under his instructions, modern rescue equipment were brought to the country and a necessary base was formed in this field.
MP Siyavush Novruzov shared his memories about Heydar Aliyev. He said the Ministry of Emergency Situations was founded basing on Heydar Aliye’s ideas and underlined that consequences of emergency situations are eliminated quickly in Azerbaijan and neighboring countries.
The MP noted that Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also meets modern standards: “I was at the Pentagon, but didn’t see there the innovations of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Everyone wants to enter and study at this Academy.”
MPs Ayten Mustafayeva and Elmira Akhundova also delivered speeches.
