The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan unanimously adopted a decision on the results of the municipal elections, APA reports.
According to the report, CEC members later approved the protocol on the results of the municipal elections.

Today, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) held a meeting to discuss the results of the municipal elections held on January 29, APA reports.
CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov stated that the commission must review and approve the election results within a maximum of 20 days from the voting day.
It was noted that the number of candidates included in the ballots for the municipal elections was 16,092. Of these, 8,424 candidates were nominated by 23 political parties. A total of 70,625 observers were accredited by the CEC and district election commissions to monitor the elections, in which 8,071 members were to be elected to 685 municipalities across 118 constituencies.
Voter turnout in the municipal elections was 31.42 percent.
CEC Secretary Arifa Mukhtarova provided information about the draft protocol of the CEC regarding the election results.
