Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) 9th Congress Organizing Committee chief Serdar Jalaloglu has appealed to the President Ilham Aliyev asking for release of political prisoners, ADP press service told APA.
The appeal mentions that ADP General Assembly passed a decision at the January 27 meeting to begin political dialogue between the ruling party and opposition and to create mutual confidence. From this view point it is asked to take appropriate steps for the release of political prisoners.
“We approve your recent statements to stimulate ruling party-opposition relations to pass to a next stage, and know that you are interested in this process for it will serve the interests of our people and state. It is of great importance to create mutual trust for this dialogue to benefit people�, the appeal reads.
Jalaloglu included the list of 14 prisoners into his appeal. /APA/
