Chairman of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration comments on scandalous video

I just can add to the early expressed opinions that mentioning of my name in the very material was a provocation by some people. The aim is to belie government representative by means of such dirty tricks. I must say that such efforts had happened many times during the early periods of the countries independence, but such provocations didnâ€™t work as they were baseless and the provocateur couldnâ€™t realize their wills. The current incident also wonâ€™t give any resultâ€, said the chairman of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev, APA reports quoting AZerTac.

â€œThe discussions on scandalous video material concerning former rector of International University of Azerbaijan Elshad Abdullayev and the member of Azerbaijani Parliament Gular Ahmadova have been remaining on the agenda for several days. In his response to the question â€œYour name was also mentioned during the conversation between Elshad Abdullayev and Gular Ahmadova. How can you comment it?â€, Mehdiyev said that the representatives of the Presidential Administration have had nothing to do with such dirty acts before and it will be so even in future: â€œThe facts on Elshad Abdullayev failure in the parliamentary elections and closing of International University of Azerbaijan where he was a rector, once more confirms sincerity of my words in accordance with the legislation. What concerns the bribery- by some swindlers, Elshad Abdullayev or his partners â€“ is their own problem. Such swindling has always been and they continue taking or giving bribes. The best way for them, of course, is to take a benefit by misusing high-ranked peoplesâ€™ names. They have always been revealed and sentenced in accordance with the lawâ€.
